The front uses a Double Wishbone setup for precise steering and wheel travel. The rear features a 4-Link suspension with coil springs and a lateral rod, which is a major upgrade over traditional leaf springs, offering much-improved ride comfort without sacrificing load-bearing capacity.

Unlike many SUVs that use drum brakes at the rear, the Fortuner features large ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels. The "ventilated" design allows heat to dissipate quickly, preventing brake fade during long downhill descents or high-speed stops.

The top-spec variants come with 18-inch "Super Chrome" finish alloy wheels wrapped in 265/60 R18 all-terrain tires. The high sidewall profile (60% of 265mm) provides a cushion against potholes and is ideal for off-road durability.
