The hybrid Maverick uses an electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT) that smoothly blends power from the gas engine and electric motor using a planetary gear set. Non-hybrid models feature an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Drive Type: FWD or AWD
The Maverick comes standard with Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) for maximum fuel economy, but an available All-Wheel Drive (AWD) layout can be paired with both the hybrid and turbocharged powertrains for improved traction.
