The Alto comes with a standard 5-speed manual or the popular AGS (Automated Manual Transmission). The AGS provides the convenience of an automatic without the significant fuel penalty typically associated with traditional torque converters.

All local variants are FWD, which helps in weight reduction and provides a flat rear floor, maximizing the cabin's limited footprint for passenger comfort.
