The EQS utilizes a Single-Speed Reduction Gear transmission. The 2026 model features an updated Disconnect Unit (DCU) on 4MATIC models, which automatically decouples the front motor when it isn't needed (such as during steady highway cruising) to reduce mechanical drag and boost range.
