Safety is a priority for NIO, and the ET5 is equipped with 7 airbags as standard. Unique to this segment is the front-center airbag, which prevents head-to-head contact between the driver and front passenger during a side impact. This is supplemented by high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid construction with a torsional stiffness of 34,000 N·m/deg.
NCAP Safety Rating: 5-Star (Euro NCAP)
The NIO ET5 achieved a full 5-star rating from Euro NCAP in 2023. It scored exceptionally high in Adult Occupant protection (96%). The vehicle is equipped with the NIO Aquila Super Sensing suite, which includes 33 sensors and a roof-mounted LiDAR to prevent collisions before they happen.
