Gearbox Type: 8-Speed Automatic (Shift-by-Wire)
The Palisade features an in-house developed 8-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® manual shift mode. Instead of a traditional lever, it uses a Shift-by-Wire push-button interface on the center console, freeing up storage space in the cabin.
Drive Type: FWD / HTRAC AWD
Standard models come with Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), while the optional HTRAC All-Wheel Drive system provides active torque control between the front and rear axles. The AWD system includes specialized modes for Snow, Mud, and Sand to enhance traction on varying terrains.
Clutch Type: Torque Converter
The 8-speed transmission utilizes a multi-disc torque converter with a lock-up clutch. This design provides smooth low-speed crawling and efficient power transfer at highway speeds, which is ideal for the towing and family-hauling duties of the Palisade.
