Performance and Powertrain (Electric) of BYD Sealion 7 in Nepal

Motor Power: 230 kW (RWD) / 390 kW (AWD)

The BYD Sealion 7 is powered by a high-efficiency 8-in-1 electric powertrain. The Premium variant features a rear-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivering 230 kW (approx. 308 bhp), while the Performance variant adds a front induction motor to reach a combined output of 390 kW (523 bhp). The system utilizes an ultra-high-speed motor capable of reaching 23,000 rpm, which is among the highest in mass-produced electric vehicles.

Max Torque: 380 Nm (RWD) / 690 Nm (AWD)

Torque delivery is instantaneous, a hallmark of BYD's electric motors. The AWD Performance model produces a massive 690 Nm of torque, distributed through an Intelligent Torque Adaptation Control (iTAC) system. This system can shift torque between axles in milliseconds to maintain traction and stability during aggressive driving or slippery conditions.

0-100 km/h Acceleration: 4.5 Seconds (Performance)

The flagship Performance variant of the Sealion 7 achieves the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. For the single-motor Premium variant, the time is a respectable 6.7 seconds. This performance is supported by the Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology, which reduces weight and lowers the center of gravity for better launch traction.

Top Speed: 215 km/h

Unlike many EVs that are restricted to lower speeds to preserve battery, the Sealion 7 is engineered for high-speed stability, topping out at 215 km/h. This is made possible by the advanced thermal management of the Blade Battery and the efficiency of the 23,000 rpm motor.
