Performance & Engine of BYD Seal in Nepal

Battery Capacity: 82.56 kWh (Blade Battery)

The BYD Seal utilizes the proprietary "Blade Battery" technology, which is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry designed for extreme safety and energy density. Unlike traditional NCM batteries, the Blade Battery serves as a structural component of the car (Cell-to-Body technology), significantly increasing torsional rigidity. This 82.56 kWh pack supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, allowing a 30% to 80% charge in approximately 26 minutes.

Max Power: 523 bhp (390 kW)

In its flagship Performance AWD trim, the Seal produces a combined output of 523 bhp. This is achieved through a dual-motor setup: a 160 kW asynchronous motor at the front and a 230 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor at the rear. This massive power delivery is managed by the Intelligent Torque Adaption Control (iTAC) system, which proactively adjusts torque to prevent wheel slip.

Max Torque: 670 Nm

The dual-motor configuration generates an instantaneous torque of 670 Nm. Because electric motors provide peak torque from 0 RPM, the Seal offers neck-snapping acceleration. The torque distribution is heavily rear-biased in normal driving conditions to maintain a sporty character while engaging the front motor during hard acceleration or low-traction scenarios.

0-100 km/h Time: 3.8 Seconds

The "3.8" badge on the rear of the Performance variant isn't just a number; it is the official 0-100 km/h acceleration time. This puts the BYD Seal in the territory of high-end European sports sedans. Even the single-motor Premium variant is no slouch, completing the sprint in 5.9 seconds.

Top Speed: 180 km/h

To preserve battery efficiency and protect the electric motors from excessive heat, the top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h. While lower than some internal combustion rivals, this speed is more than sufficient for global highway limits and focuses on maximizing the WLTP range of up to 520 km (AWD) or 570 km (RWD).
