The BE 6 utilizes a single-speed planetary reduction gearbox, standard for high-performance electric vehicles. This eliminates the need for shifting, providing a seamless and jerk-free driving experience. The transmission is integrated into a 3-in-1 powertrain module that combines the motor, inverter, and gearbox into a single compact housing, reducing weight and mechanical losses while improving overall drivetrain efficiency.
Drive Type: Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD)
The BE 6 is primary a Rear-Wheel Drive vehicle, which contributes to its "born electric" handling characteristics. By placing the motor at the rear, Mahindra has achieved a near 50:50 weight distribution. This setup frees up the front wheels for steering duties only, resulting in a tighter turning radius of 5 meters and more communicative steering feedback, particularly during spirited cornering on winding roads.
