Gearbox Type: e-CVT with Engine-Linked Clutch
The e:HEV architecture eliminates the traditional gearbox. Instead, it uses an "e-CVT" (Electric Continuously Variable Transmission) comprising a generator motor and a traction motor. A high-speed lock-up clutch allows the engine to connect directly to the front wheels only during high-speed cruising (120 km/h+), where it is most efficient. The drivetrain is strictly Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), managed by a Power Control Unit (PCU) that makes 100 decisions per second to switch between EV, Hybrid, and Engine drive modes.
