Transmission and Drivetrain of Mahindra Scorpio Classic in Nepal

Gearbox type: 6-Speed Manual

The Scorpio Classic uses a new 6-speed manual gearbox featuring "Cable Shift" technology. Unlike the older linkage-based systems, this provides shorter throws and a much more car-like, precise shifting experience. The sixth gear acts as an overdrive, allowing the engine to cruise at lower RPMs on the highway to save fuel.

Drive Type: RWD (Rear Wheel Drive)

Following its old-school SUV DNA, the Scorpio Classic is a Rear-Wheel Drive vehicle. This setup provides better traction when the vehicle is fully loaded and allows for better weight distribution during climbs. Note that the "Classic" version no longer offers a 4x4 variant, which is now reserved for the Scorpio-N.

Clutch type: Single Plate Dry Clutch

It utilizes a conventional single-plate dry clutch system. Mahindra has worked on reducing the clutch pedal effort in the Classic model, making it significantly lighter and easier to operate in stop-and-go urban traffic compared to previous generations.
