Gearbox Type: 6-Speed Manual / 6-Speed Automatic (Torque Converter)
Mahindra offers two transmission choices: a 6-speed manual for enthusiasts who prefer control and a 6-speed torque converter automatic sourced from Aisin. The automatic transmission is praised for its smooth shifts and intelligent logic that adapts to the driver's throttle inputs.
Drive Type: FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) / AWD (All-Wheel Drive)
Standard variants come with a Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) layout. However, the top-tier Diesel AX7 and AX7L variants offer an optional All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, which automatically distributes torque to the rear wheels when slip is detected, enhancing traction on slippery surfaces.
Clutch Type: Single Plate Dry Clutch (Manual)
The manual transmission variants utilize a single plate dry clutch with a hydraulic actuation system. This setup provides a light clutch pedal feel, reducing driver fatigue in heavy stop-and-go city traffic despite the vehicle's large size.
