Performance and Engine (Electric) of GAC Aion V in Nepal

The GAC Aion V represents a significant step up in energy density, featuring a high-capacity 75.26 kWh Magazine Battery in its Luxury trim (with a 64.5 kWh option for the Elite trim). Utilizing Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry, this battery is built on GAC's AEP 3.0 platform. It is designed to withstand extreme thermal stress, famously passing the "gunshot test" without ignition. In Nepal, the Luxury variant boasts a claimed NEDC range of 650 km, providing class-leading endurance for long-range interstate travel.

The Aion V is equipped with a high-performance Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that generates 150 kW of peak power. This output ensures that the mid-size SUV remains responsive even when fully loaded with passengers and cargo. The power delivery is managed by a sophisticated thermal management system that maintains motor efficiency during prolonged climbs in mountainous terrain like the BP Highway.

Delivering a peak torque of 240 Nm, the Aion V offers smooth and linear acceleration. Unlike its smaller sibling, the Aion Y, the V-model's torque curve is tuned for a more refined "executive" feel, balancing punchy city starts with stable mid-range pull for highway overtaking. Despite being a larger and heavier SUV than the Aion Y, the Aion V maintains a brisk 0-100 km/h sprint time of 7.9 seconds. The Aion V has an electronically governed top speed of 160 km/h. This limit is slightly higher than the Aion Y, reflecting its role as a more highway-capable SUV.
