Engine and Transmission of Yamaha FZS FI V3 BS6 in Nepal

Engine Displacement: 149 cc

The heart of the V3 is a BS6-compliant 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Yamaha optimized the engine settings to polish the feeling of superior acceleration from a standstill. It features a "Blue Core" construction with a 57.3mm bore and 57.9mm stroke, prioritizing mid-range delivery over high-end speed.

Max Power: 12.4 PS @ 7250 rpm

To meet the cleaner BS6 emission standards, the power was slightly detuned to 12.4 PS. While this is lower than the V2, the delivery is more refined and linear, ensuring the bike doesn't feel "strained" during typical city commutes or steady highway cruising at 80 km/h.

Max Torque: 13.3 Nm @ 5500 rpm

The standout stat for the BS6 model is the torque increase to 13.3 Nm, which now peaks much earlier at 5500 rpm. This makes the V3 significantly "punchier" in traffic than the V2, allowing you to pull away from stoplights with much less throttle effort.

Gearbox: 5-speed Constant Mesh

It retains the reliable 5-speed gearbox with a 1-down, 4-up pattern. The gear ratios are specifically tuned to take advantage of the increased low-end torque, making the 3rd and 4th gears highly versatile for city filtering.
