Engine Displacement: 373.3 cc
The Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. Unlike the Pulsar series, this engine uses a Triple Spark (3 spark plugs) system and a Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) setup, which allows for much higher high-end performance and refined power delivery suitable for long-distance touring.
Max Power: 40 PS @ 8800 rpm
The BS6 transition saw the Dominar's power jump to a full 40 PS. This makes it one of the most powerful bikes in its price bracket in Nepal, allowing it to maintain triple-digit cruising speeds (100–120 km/h) with ease and significant engine reserve.
Max Torque: 35 Nm @ 6500 rpm
With 35 Nm of torque, the Dominar is built for "low-end grunt." It pulls cleanly from low revs, which is essential when climbing steep Himalayan passes with a pillion and heavy luggage.
Fuel System: Fuel Injection (FI)
The Bosch-sourced Fuel Injection system ensures the bike runs perfectly regardless of the altitude—a critical feature for riders taking the Dominar from the heat of the Terai to the thin air of High Mustang.
Top Speed: 155–160 km/h
The Dominar 400 can reach a speedo-indicated top speed of nearly 160 km/h. Its heavy chassis ensures it remains rock-solid and planted even when buffeted by crosswinds on open highways.
Mileage: 27–32 kmpl
Given its high performance, the Dominar returns a respectable 27–32 kmpl. During relaxed highway touring at 90 km/h, riders often report figures on the higher end of that scale.
