The 2026 Hilux retains the bulletproof 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV Turbo-Diesel engine but now incorporates a 48V Mild-Hybrid system as standard on higher trims. This system provides a smoother start-stop experience and a torque-assist that improves low-end grunt. The engine produces 204 PS of power. Torque figures vary by transmission: the Automatic delivers a massive 500 Nm, while the Manual is tuned to 420 Nm. For extreme utility, it maintains a 700 mm water-wading capacity.
