Unlike its larger siblings that use 8-speed units, the Evoque uses a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission designed for transverse engine layouts. It features Permanent All-Wheel Drive with Driveline Disconnect, which can switch to Front-Wheel Drive during steady highway cruising to save fuel, re-engaging AWD instantly when traction is needed.
