The 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission is standard. It features two sub-transmissions that allow the next gear to be permanently pre-selected, resulting in gear changes that occur within a few hundredths of a second without any interruption in power.
Drive Type: Quattro with Ultra Technology
The Q5 uses "Quattro with Ultra Technology," a proactive all-wheel-drive system. It primarily operates in front-wheel drive to save fuel but can engage the rear wheels in a fraction of a second when sensors detect a need for more traction, such as on wet roads or during spirited cornering.
