Performance and Motor of Tata Tigor EV in India

Motor Type: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (FWD)

The Tigor.ev is powered by a liquid-cooled motor that ensures consistent performance even in harsh Indian summers. It features the Ziptron technology which is IP67-rated, meaning the critical components are dustproof and waterproof up to a depth of 1 meter.

Max Power: 75 PS (55 kW)

The electric motor produces a peak power of 75 PS. While this may seem lower than the Petrol variant on paper, the delivery is far more immediate, allowing the car to sprint from 0-60 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

Max Torque: 170 Nm (Instant)

With 170 Nm of instant torque, the Tigor.ev offers significantly more pulling power than the petrol or CNG versions. This makes it exceptionally agile for overtaking in city traffic without needing to "wait" for a gearbox to downshift.

Battery Capacity: 26 kWh High Energy Density Pack

The car comes with a 26 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. For 2026, Tata has improved the thermal management software, slightly increasing the usable capacity and ensuring the battery degrades slower over thousands of charge cycles.

Range: 315 km (ARAI) / ~180–200 km (Real World)

The ARAI-certified range is 315 km. In real-world urban conditions with the AC on, drivers can comfortably expect 180 to 200 km on a full charge. It also features 4 levels of Multi-Mode Regen to help recoup energy during braking.
