Performance and Engine of Tata Punch in India

Engine Displacement: 1,199 cc (NA Petrol / Turbo Petrol / iCNG)

The 2026 Punch expands its powertrain lineup to three distinct 1.2L configurations. The standard Revotron Naturally Aspirated (NA) petrol engine is joined by the high-performance iTurbo engine (borrowed from the Altroz) and the innovative iCNG bi-fuel system. All engines are refined for better fuel efficiency and lower NVH levels.

Max Power: 118 bhp (Turbo) / 88 bhp (NA Petrol) / 73.4 bhp (CNG Mode)

The new iTurbo variant delivers a segment-leading 118 bhp, turning the Punch into a pocket rocket. The standard NA petrol produces 88 bhp, while the iCNG variant delivers 73.4 bhp when running on gas, ensuring smooth driveability even in eco-friendly mode.

Max Torque: 170 Nm (Turbo) / 115 Nm (NA Petrol) / 103 Nm (CNG Mode)

Torque figures see a massive jump in the Turbo variant to 170 Nm, providing effortless highway overtakes. The NA petrol and iCNG variants offer 115 Nm and 103 Nm respectively, optimized for low-end grunt in stop-and-go city traffic.

No. of Cylinders: 3

Consistent with the compact engine design, all variants utilize an In-line 3-cylinder setup. Tata has added new balancer shafts and improved engine mounts in the 2026 facelift to significantly reduce the "thrum" typical of three-cylinder engines.
