Motor Type: Dual PM Synchronous (AWD) / Single PM Synchronous (RWD)
The Harrier.ev marks a milestone for Tata Motors by introducing Quad Wheel Drive (QWD). The top-spec variants utilize two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors one on each axle. The entry-level variants are Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), a departure from the ICE version's FWD layout, ensuring better traction and weight distribution typical of premium EVs.
Max Power: 390 bhp (291 kW) Combined (AWD) / 235 bhp (RWD)
In its dual-motor AWD avatar, the Harrier.ev produces a staggering 390 bhp, making it the most powerful vehicle in Tata's current lineup. The RWD version delivers a healthy 235 bhp, which is still significantly higher than the ICE Harrier’s 170 PS output.
Max Torque: 504 Nm (Combined AWD) / 315 Nm (RWD)
Torque is instantaneous, as expected from an EV. The AWD variant delivers 504 Nm of peak torque, allowing the 2.3-tonne SUV to overcome steep inclines and perform high-speed overtakes with zero lag.
Battery Capacity: 75 kWh (Long Range) / 65 kWh (Medium Range)
Tata offers two high-density LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery packs. The 75 kWh pack is the flagship, while the 65 kWh pack serves the mid-range variants. These batteries are IP67 rated for water and dust resistance, essential for the 600 mm water-wading depth capability.
Range: 627 km (MIDC) / ~480 km (Real World)
The 75 kWh battery is certified for 627 km on the MIDC cycle. In real-world Indian highway conditions, users can expect a reliable 450–480 km, while city driving with regenerative braking can push the range closer to 500 km.
0-100 km/h Time: 6.3 Seconds (Boost Mode)
Utilizing the Boost Mode on the AWD variant, the Harrier.ev sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. This makes it the fastest accelerating SUV ever produced by an Indian manufacturer to date.
Top Speed: 180 km/h (Electronically Limited)
The top speed is electronically capped at 180 km/h to preserve battery health and range efficiency. However, the vehicle reaches this limit much faster than its diesel counterpart.
