The G 580 features a groundbreaking powertrain consisting of four independent electric motors (one near each wheel). This allows for precise torque vectoring and replaces traditional mechanical differential locks with "virtual" software-based locks. The system delivers a combined 579–587 hp and a massive 1,164 Nm of instant torque, out-muscling even the AMG G 63 in low-end grunt.
Acceleration and Speed: 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds
Despite its aerodynamic drag and high kerb weight, the G 580 mimics sports car performance, hitting 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. To preserve battery efficiency and handle its upright "brick" shape, the top speed is electronically capped at 180 km/h.
