Performance and Engine of Mercedes benz E Class in India

Engine Displacement: 1,999 cc (Petrol) / 1,993 cc (Diesel)

The 2026 E-Class LWB features a refined engine lineup integrated with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The E 200 petrol variant uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine producing 204 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The E 220d diesel variant uses a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder unit delivering 197 bhp and a stout 440 Nm of torque. Both receive an additional 23 bhp and 205 Nm boost from the integrated starter-generator (ISG) for smoother low-speed crawls.

Configuration: 4 Cylinders / 16-Valve DOHC

Both engines are inline-4 configurations equipped with a Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) and 4 valves per cylinder. The petrol engine utilizes a twin-scroll turbocharger with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), while the diesel employs a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) with a Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) system.

Acceleration and Speed: 0-100 km/h in 7.5 - 7.6 seconds

The E-Class LWB maintains a balance of elegance and pace. The A 200 petrol variant sprints from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, while the E 220d diesel follows closely at 7.6 seconds. The top speed for both variants is electronically capped at 233 km/h to ensure stability and safety on Indian expressways.
