Motor: 210 kW (eDrive35) / 250 kW (eDrive40)
The i4 brings the classic BMW rear-wheel-drive dynamics to the electric segment. The eDrive35 produces 282 bhp and 400 Nm, while the more powerful eDrive40 delivers 335 bhp and 430 Nm. Both use an electrically excited synchronous motor on the rear axle, which avoids the use of rare-earth metals in the magnets.
0-100 km/h: 5.7 Seconds (eDrive40) / 6.0 Seconds (eDrive35)
Despite the weight of the floor-mounted batteries, the i4 remains a quick sprinter. The eDrive40 hits triple digits in 5.7 seconds, offering the instantaneous torque typical of EVs while maintaining the linear power delivery BMW is known for. Its top speed is electronically limited to 190 km/h.
